aggressively alive started as a live underground comedy show—out of a love for less formal, more experimental comedy for the sake of comedy, and desperation for opportunities to help bring the people we love together that still felt like something we’d all go to on purpose.

as NY-turned-LA transplants, we wanted to celebrate all the best of what we had loved in NY, and help champion some of our favorite emerging comedians in the scene along the way. we wanted comedians to have total creative freedom, an authentic space to explore new material, and an escape from more rehearsed industry showcases (without having to leave LA).

since our first show in july 2021, aggressively alive has sold out every month with 100-150 people, live music, drink sponsors including sierra nevada and flying embers, and a recent feature in the LA Times’ “How secret backyard shows keep L.A.’s underground comedy scene standing strong.”

today, aggressively alive is a celebration/ode to live performance, where anything can happen—once, in person. it’s a house party meets underground stand-up, characters, musicians, and more.
